I am a witch
For example, if I want to make it snow, rain or generally be miserable meteorologically speaking, all have have to do is hang some clothing on the line.

Black History Month
Its that time once again when I get to tear my hair out about caterers, guest speakers and dance troupes... but at least I get to wear my Rwandan outfits (which I fit into once again despite all the stew and dumplings!!) to the events and the food is awesome.
The exhibits are up at the library and city hall and we have one final event at the Rotary club about the Black business community.

Environmental Audit 2007
+ve Same as last year plus
1. Sent all Christmas letters by email and no cards.
2. Reused wrapping paper salvaged from last year.
3. Made most gifts.
4. Starting Organic farm
5. Have gone back to hennaing my hair.
6. Still dry the clothes outside all year round (with a short burst in the drier when I bring them in)
7. Use phosphate free vegetable based cleaning products; dishwasher powder, washing up liquid, Laundry detergent, bathroom and kitchen cleaner and chlorine free bleach.
8. Using coconut oil based conditioner.
9. Using Berts Bee's products
10. Buying locally grown and milled organic bread, flours and cereals.
11. Buying local organic beef and free range eggs (surprisingly hard to find here).
12. Using a root cellar to store veggies through the winter (in tubs of sawdust)
13. Walking to most places in the village.
14. Are now a 2 car family BUT are very economical with travel.
15. Saving heritage plant seeds
16. Sometimes share showers
17. Don't flush the number 1's every time
18. Bought a hemp Tilly Hat
19. Buying products that are life time guaranteed i.e. will be fixed and not thrown away and replaced.
20. Still buying clothing from Salvation Army and Frenchies (recycling)
Things to improve
1. Find non-zinc based deodorant that actually works; being green is one thing, smelling like a beef burger by the end of the day is something else.
2. Find eco-shampoo and other few cosmetics that I use.

Last Years Resolutions
Floss every day; well, I do floss every time I eat meat so thats pretty good.
To eat less meat, dairy, wheat and refined sugar and more veggies and fruit and whole grains; discovered I was anaemic so am eating more beef but it is Organic beef:-) Am eating home grown organic veggies and organic bananas (not home grown;-)), don't drink soda, ever, really. Still eating wheat but whole wheat plus buckwheat, spelt, Kamut and other interesting grains. Drinking milk and lovin' it... get unpasteurised sometimes. Yummy:-)

Pourin' down rain
It rained all day yesterday and last night we had a thunderstorm - in JANUARY! We have SNOW storms in January. Please don't tell me global warming is fiction.
Sooner or later I'm going to be telling stories of my first winter here when there was snow for 5 months.

'No proof' organic food is better
Well thank you for that Mr Miliband.
Under pressure from Farmers Associations he said
""It's only 4% of total farm produce, not 40%, and I would not want to say that 96% of our farm produce is inferior because it's not organic."
Well, would you say it when its 40% of produce? Does more organics mean organics are better or that you will offend fewer voters...?
Of course, we have the same 'tact' problem promoting our Organic produce. We have to explain that it IS better in order to justify higher pricing... but then are we implying the conventional farmers produce next door is worse...
Well of course we are, but we can't say it in so many words.
